Hello all,

I hope you're enjoying Trick or Treat 2012!  We've had some lovely pieces posted, and I can't wait to see what else is being written - and that includes ficlets by your mods! Prompt claiming is still open, so please feel free to grab a set and join in the fun.

As I'm sure you're all aware, Hurricane Sandy is rapidly approaching the east coast of the U.S.  It's forecast to be a very large and very dangerous storm.  With that in mind (and knowing that two of your mods live on the east coast), we'll be extending the posting deadline to Friday, November 2, 2012.  The master list from the fest will go up over the weekend.  If you're impacted by the storm and will be late submitting your story, please let us know so we can make sure it's added to the master list.

Prompt claiming will remain open through the month of October, so once you’ve completed and posted a drabble/ficlet, please feel free to claim another set of prompts. Additional prompt requests must be different from your original request.

Welcome to Trick or Treat 2012!

Prompt claiming is now open…but I bet you're wondering where and what your prompts are! Sssshhhhhhh….they're a secret!

You will choose three prompts – one each from the following categories: Treat, Trick and Location. You will choose a number from 1 to 25 in each category. The corresponding prompts will then be sent to you by PM (or by email if you prefer). You pick your pairing and write your drabble/ficlet. Hold on to it for now as posting will not begin until October 1. The fun will continue through October 31, with the master list to be posted on or about November 3.

You're still wondering about those prompts, aren't you? Here's a handy guide:

Treats: These may be food items, objects or situations. There's a fun or pleasant aspect to each one.

Tricks: These may be spells, objects or situations that have a negative or unpleasant aspect to them.

Locations: Pretty self explanatory. These are various locations throughout the Wizarding World.

You can use/interpret each prompt any way you choose, so long as it is incorporated into your story.

All standard community guidelines for pairings, ratings, word length, posting headers, etc. will apply. You may write as many stories as you wish, but please make only one claim at a time. When October 1 rolls around, your posts should be titled:

Trick or Treat 2012: Story Title Goes Here (pairing in parentheses)

Also, tag your posts accordingly. If a tag needs to be created, please contact the mods and we'll take care of that for you.
