In honor of this momentous occasion, we're re-opening Challenge #5 with a few modifications. All of you invested in your claims, in the Number Game ficathon, in whatever - just stop for a moment and celebrate with us. :)
Your task is to write exactly 200 words of crack. It must feature a rare pairing (whichever one you fancy) - but bonus points to you if you use Argus Filch!
Please be sure to headline your submission(s) as follows:

Basically, the challenge is to use a picture as a prompt. We have here three pictures for you to choose from, and you must use one of these:
Please use only one picture per fic. You can do one fic (or more) for each picture. Also, be sure to clearly mark on your submissions which picture you used.

CHALLENGE #7
Oct. 13th, 2008 07:29 pmrarepairs_modFor this challenge, you must write a fic featuring at least one of the Dursleys in the main pairing.
As an example, you could write Vernon/Petunia, or you could elect to write Dudley/Hermione or Petunia/Dumbledore. (I'm making these up off the top of my head!) Anything goes, just shower the Dursleys with some love! xD

Aug. 24th, 2008 10:34 pmrarepairs_modThough we are called Rare Pair Shorts, we wanted to give you the opportunity to step outside our usual boundaries. So that means your challenge is to write any rare threesome of your choice. :D
Basically that means just about all threesomes besides Harry/Hermione/Ron. As far as I know, not too many threesomes have many fics about them - but if there are any other non-rare threesomes out there, please call them to my attention.
And I know you are all very creative people anyway, so I'm sure we'll get some interesting fics out of this. ;)

Your task is to write exactly 100 words of crack. It must feature a rare pairing (whichever one you fancy) - but bonus points to you if you use Gilderoy Lockhart.

We've noticed that there has been a considerable lack of femmeslash fics written for this community - and we don't know about you, but us mods are a little sad about that. So what's your challenge? You guessed right. ;) You may write any rare femmeslash pairing of your choice. You may submit as many fics as you like for as many different pairings you wish (you are not tied down to a "claim").
Please be sure to headline your submission(s) as follows:

There are no other rules except for the general posting rules, where applicable. Also, don't forget to include a fourth tag (in addition to your usual three tags) for the challenge # you are responding to.

CHALLENGE #2
Feb. 21st, 2008 02:45 pmrarepairs_modWe have decided that all challenges will be ongoing - there will be no more deadlines. (Yay!) Which means that the non-human challenge is now reopen. :) Every month or so we will post a brief announcement reminding you of all the challenges, and you can respond to as many as you like, whenever you like.
GENERAL POSTING RULES
For challenges, all regular posting rules apply, though please be sure to headline your submission(s) as follows:
CHALLENGE # - Title of fic (Pairing).
This makes it easier for us to differentiate them from regular (non-challenge) submissions at a glance. Also, remember to include a fourth tag (in addition to your usual three tags) for the challenge # you are responding to.
Now, for the new challenge, you must write a fic beginning with: "It was a dark and stormy night."
You may submit as many fics as you like for whichever pairings you wish (you are not tied down to your claim). There are no other rules except for the general posting rules (as stated under the LJ-cut).

For this challenge, you must write a drabble or ficlet about any non-human pairing. Always wanted to write Hedwig/Pig? Or Dobby/Winky? Now's your chance!
You can write as many fics as you like, for as many different pairings as you like. For example, if you write a Dobby/Winky fic first, you are not tied down to that pairing - you can go on to write other pairings if you wish.
Please be sure to headline your submission(s) as follows:
CHALLENGE #1 - Title of fic (Pairing).
This makes it easier for us to differentiate them from regular (non-challenge) submissions. Also, regular posting rules apply to this challenge.
