A/N:  Written for the [livejournal.com profile] rarepair_shorts  Clue(do) Ficathon.  I was trying to get it finished in time, but juuust missed the last day.  I hope everyone enjoys - I felt a bit rusty with this pairing, but I always get a kick out of writing them!!  This takes place during Seamus and Pansy's sixth year.

Well, there were no new fics this week, but that's okay, we still got twelve now thirteen! great ones from the previous months! Unfortunately, nobody guessed the secret combination, which was (drumroll please!)...

Ginny/Viktor in the owlery with the Snitch.

The riddle used parts of summaries from ficathon fics that contained either the proper characters, place, or object, if you were wondering. :)

Thank you all to everyone who participated, and again, we're very sorry for not promoting the ficathon more and encouraging more people to write.

The Masterlist! )

If you would still like to contribute a fic to the ficathon, you are welcome to do so. Simply post, and we'll add your fic to the masterlist.

We hope you all had fun, and stay tuned in the next few days for our last hurrah of the year.

ETA: [livejournal.com profile] swissmarg has written up some stats for the ficathon.

This is just a reminder that the deadline for the Clue(do) Ficathon is tomorrow, November 3. If you're trying to work out the secret combination, here is the clue, once again:

Great is He with the morning surprise,
She isn't all that horrid,
It has help that comes with a price,
And Where is Sometimes torrid.

You're still allowed to guess at the secret combination until the third.

We'd also let you know that we've got one last big event planned for this year – and since school has been dragging us further and further away from this community, it may be the last one for a very long time, if not ever. So stay tuned. :)

Hello all! We're very sorry we've been so absent lately – school is rather consuming us.

We haven't been promoting the Clue(do) Ficathon much, so it has sadly died. But we would still like to give those of you who wanted to participate one last chance before we officially close the challenge. Therefore, the Clue(do) Ficathon will end on Wednesday, November 3. We will be posting a masterlist at that point, and will reveal our secret pairing/place/object combination.

If there are some of you who would still like to participate and try to guess this secret combination, here is a clue:

Great is He with the morning surprise,
She isn't all that horrid,
It has help that comes with a price,
And Where is Sometimes torrid.

Good luck!

If, just for fun, you'd like to guess the secret combination without (or with!) writing a fic, you can do so on this post; comments containing guesses will be screened until November third. If you have a question or general comment, your comment will be unscreened immediately.

Hello everyone! It's been a rather long time since we've had a big event here, and we apologize for that. But today, we're bringing you something we hope you enjoy: a ficathon based on the board game Clue, also known as Cluedo.

According to Wikipedia:

The object of the basic game is for players to strategically move around the game board, in the guise of one of the game's characters, collecting clues from which to deduce which suspect murdered the game's perpetual victim: Dr. Black (Mr. Boddy in North American versions), and with which weapon and in what room.

When you think you know the correct combination of person, weapon, and room, you would say, for example: "Miss Scarlet in the dining room with the revolver."

For this ficathon, we're following the same idea, and your basic prompt is:

_______/________ in the ____________ with the __________

_______/________ is your (rare) pairing, which you will get to choose. However, we've come up with places and items for you to choose from. We've kept the same number of places and items/"weapons" as are in the game; however, we came up with nine places INSIDE or AROUND Hogwarts, and nine places OUTSIDE Hogwarts. If you don't like the Potterfied places and items we've come up with, you are welcome to use those of the original game.

Places and items are beneath the cut. )

Your story does NOT have to be about solving a murder mystery, but it can be if you'd like it to.

**As per the game, we have also picked a secret pairing, item, and place. Anybody who uses that particular combination in their story will receive a banner for "winning" the ficathon.**

Please remember that all pairings must be rare (that is, it is NOT on this list), ratings must be R or under, and try to keep your word count under 2,500.

Have fun!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments.

Also, make sure you include your prompt combination in your Author's Notes when you post your fic. THERE IS NO DEADLINE YET, but the ficathon will most likely stay open a little over a month.

Just to gauge the interest level of the ficathon, we'd appreciate it if you commented with a pairing/item/place combination you're thinking about using. This isn't necessary, but it might be fun.
