Whew! You all are amazing, because this round, you produced fifty-two gifts for the thirty-six wishlists posted. Well done! Thank you so much to those of you who participated, and those of you who made sure that everyone was able to receive at least one gift.

Beneath the cut is the masterlist, and if you notice any errors, please let us know!

The Masterlist )

We'll see you in a couple of months for the fic exchange!

Author: lauryne78
Recipient: thedreamisreal
Title: Fragments
Pairing: George/Luna
Request: Grief; running the joke shop; children
Rating: PG
Word Count: 625 (5 x 125)
Summary: Scenes from a (long) life.
Author's Notes: This is a style I’ve never really attempted before – completely fragmentary, hence the title, and divided into such short sections. These scenes are chronological, but there are intentionally long gaps of time between the events. I challenged myself to see what I could do with your prompt in as few words per scene as possible, thedreamisreal , and it really stimulated me to be creative. I hope you enjoy the results!!

Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] leigh_adams
Title: Some Enchanted Evening
Pairing: Seamus/Pansy
Request: A masquerade ball
Rating: PG-13 (for implications, really)
Word Count: 887
Summary: Pansy goes to the Ministry’s annual Hallowe’en masquerade. There is dancing. There is (almost) champagne. There is a masked man. Any more would be spoilers.
Author's Notes: Whenever I’ve written Seamus/Pansy, it’s always been the same type of experience – there’s always something about them that just “clicks” for me and the writing really flows. Maybe it’s the combination of her snark and his charm. Dunno. But this piece was no different - it came to me in the course of about an hour and practically wrote itself!! I hope you enjoy, [livejournal.com profile] leigh_adams!!

Title: All These Broken Pieces
Pairing: Neville/Hannah
Request: “When you’ve spent so much time learning to fight battles, how do you go back to normal?”
Rating: PG
Word Count: 2,304 (I know it’s a bit long, but I cut it down several times and this was as short as I could get it – I hope that’s okay!!).
Summary: Hannah and Neville are both a bit lost after the Final Battle. Trying to make it on their own isn’t working, but maybe they’ll be better together.
Author's Notes: This is a sort of vignette style that (intentionally) leaves some moments between them off the page…but tries to evoke a feeling and tone with what it does show. It’s not a style I use too often, and I worked on it on and off all summer, so I hope it worked!! The title is taken from Snow Patrol’s song The Lightning Strike – Part iii, specifically “All these broken pieces fit together to make a perfect picture of us.” I hope you like it, [livejournal.com profile] katzpajamas– it was a lot of fun to write!!

Title: The Long and Lonely Road
Character Pairing: George/Luna for [livejournal.com profile] rarepair_shorts
Prompt: flying bricks
Rating: PG
Word Count: 1,428
Summary: It’s almost Christmas, and Luna feels further away from George than ever. Will a long walk help her clear her mind or only lead to more confusion?
Author’s Note: So. I think the last update I made on this series was roughly two years ago (*meep*). I never intended for there to be such a long gap, but I have to chalk that up to a combination of writers’ block, crazy-hectic RL, and a few other unforeseen factors. I hope that there are still some folks out there who might be interested in my perspective on this pairing and I apologize for the long wait!! My goal is to finish the series over the summer, hopefully before DH2 comes out…but at the very least before fall. Luna and George still don’t appear together in this one – sorry!! – but they will in the next one, which I’ve already started working on. This is 8 of 13, and it takes place on December 23, 1998, roughly three weeks after Saturday Night’s Alright (For Fighting). The feel of it is very loosely inspired by Snow Patrol’s song Lifeboats.

Title: What Happens on the Astronomy Tower, Stays on the Astronomy Tower....
Pairing: Seamus/Pansy
Rating: High PG-13
Prompt: Seamus/Pansy on the Astronomy Tower with the candlestick
Word Count: 1,143
Warnings: Enthusiastic snogging and a couple of hexes.
Summary:  Seamus seems to keep heading for the top of the Astronomy Tower, but what's waiting for him there isn't always what - or who - he expects.
A/N:  Written for the [livejournal.com profile] rarepair_shorts  Clue(do) Ficathon.  I was trying to get it finished in time, but juuust missed the last day.  I hope everyone enjoys - I felt a bit rusty with this pairing, but I always get a kick out of writing them!!  This takes place during Seamus and Pansy's sixth year.

Well, there were no new fics this week, but that's okay, we still got twelve now thirteen! great ones from the previous months! Unfortunately, nobody guessed the secret combination, which was (drumroll please!)...

Ginny/Viktor in the owlery with the Snitch.

The riddle used parts of summaries from ficathon fics that contained either the proper characters, place, or object, if you were wondering. :)

Thank you all to everyone who participated, and again, we're very sorry for not promoting the ficathon more and encouraging more people to write.

The Masterlist! )

If you would still like to contribute a fic to the ficathon, you are welcome to do so. Simply post, and we'll add your fic to the masterlist.

We hope you all had fun, and stay tuned in the next few days for our last hurrah of the year.

ETA: [livejournal.com profile] swissmarg has written up some stats for the ficathon.

Here we are, ladies and gentlemen – the Big Reveal! Thank you so much to everyone for your patience and participation. A huge thank you as well to our awesome pinch-hitters! This round was a little bumpy, so we're ever so grateful to you all for bearing with us.

Now that the Big Reveal has been posted, feel free to claim your fics and cross-post them to your own journals. But DON'T FORGET to go and COMMENT on everyone else's fics! We had wonderful entries this year, as always, even though quite a few of you were forced outside of your comfort zones, but unfortunately there haven't been many comments. So go show your fellow participants some love!

If you find any mistakes, please point them out. We would also appreciate any feedback about this round of the exchange in general.

We'd also like to congratulate [livejournal.com profile] briony_tallis for having the most correct guesses in our Guess Who Wrote What poll, with five correct guesses. Here's a little something for you -- way to go! :D

And now... drum roll please!

Ta da! )

Title: Kiss me once…and kiss me twice…
Pairing: George/Gabrielle
Rating: PG-13/Light R (to be safe)
Word Count: 1,926 (nothing like cutting it close!!)
Summary: Gabrielle and George find that the course of true love really doesn’t run smoothly….but it gets there in the end.
Author's Notes: Thank you so much to my beta, L, for your hard work! And thanks so much to the mods for running such a great exchange. Tania, I was thrilled to be able to write something for you, my dear, and I hope this makes you smile!! Just a quick note on character ages – my Gabby is 7 years and about ten months younger than my George. This only matters to the timeline in the second and third sections, but I’m anal-retentive about details like that!! (Also, I didn’t try to write in Fleur’s and Gabby’s accents because I didn’t think I could do them justice and didn’t want to interrupt the flow…so you’ll have to imagine them!!)

Title:  Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting)
Character Pairing:  George/Luna for [livejournal.com profile] rarepair_shorts
Prompt:  childish behavior
Rating:  R (mainly for George's foul mouth)
Word Count: 1,521 (sorry!!)
Summary:  George is lost and drifting, spiralling downward after pushing Luna away.  Will a family dinner change things for the better....or worse?
Author's Note:  Okay, so I'm really nervous about this one for a lot of reasons.  The biggest one though is that George is really, rather unpleasant in this one and I just hope it doesn't turn the readers off...I promise that this is the bottom, the turning point.  Things will inch back towards a happier place after this.  He had to get this far down before he could begin to come back.  Oh, and I also promise that Luna and George will actually be in the next one at the same time!!  This is 7/13 and takes place roughly three weeks after "Summer is Past..." so it's set during the first week of December, 1998.

The deadline has passed for the Summer 2009 Wishlist Event, so it's about time to post the masterlist, don't you think?

This round has been amazing, everyone! Forty-one wishlists, and eighty fics! Wow! You've all really outdone yourselves! And we are of course very happy that everyone received at least one gift.

If you are currently working on any last-minute fics for the event, feel free to post them within the next week or so, and we will add to the masterlist. And don't forget to comment on the gifts you received!

If you see any errors, please do point them out; and we love general feedback, so don't hesitate to comment!

Title:   Unexpected Gifts
Pairing:   Pansy/Seamus
Request:   snowglobe
Rating:   R (for a few references and partial nudity of an, um, representational image...yep, let's go with that).
Word Count:   1,200
Summary:  Pansy gets a gift that's even more surprising than she first thought.
Author's Notes:   Ooh boy, apparently the inspiration bug for this pairing has bitten me big time.  This can be seen as a *loose* sequel to "Breaking the Rules" (written as a gift fic earlier in this Wishlist event)...but also can stand on its own.  Hope you all enjoy!!

Title:   Breaking the Rules
Pairing:   Pansy/??? (again, I purposely didn't tag this pairing as it would ruin a surprise in the fic)
Request: always, beer, desperation, sunglasses (I combined a bunch of your prompts...hope that's okay!!)
Rating: R (to be safe...it's probably more PG - 13)
Word Count: 1,148
Summary: Pansy wakes up in unfamiliar surroundings after a drunken evening.  She tries to exit gracefully.  She doesn't succeed.
Author's Notes: Again, a pairing I've never attempted before, and in the case of Pansy, a character I've never written before at all.  But once again, the prompts and the pairing called out to me and the plot bunny wouldn't leave me alone (and snarky plotbunnies are the most persistent).  This is also a pairing I have a secret love for myself, so I *really* couldn't resist!!  Enjoy, my dear!!

Title: The Men in Her Life
Pairing: Rose/Teddy (with a whisper of another surprise pairing - I purposely did not list this pairing in the tags)
Request: you know me, you know my secrets
Rating: PG - 13
Word Count: 1,310
Summary: Rose has a problem, and the solution comes from an unexpected source.
Author's Notes: This was my first time attempting a pairing other than Ron/Hermione or George/Luna...and I really hope it came out okay.  I just couldn't resist...as soon as I read the pairing and that prompt, this scenario popped into my head and wouldn't leave.  Enjoy!!

Title: Summer is Past...
Character Pairing: George/Luna for [livejournal.com profile] rarepair_shorts
Prompt: Internal dysfunctions
Rating: PG
Word Count: 1,324
Summary:  Luna is drifting through her thoughts about George, Ginny keeps her company awhile.
Author's Note:  Okay, so when I said I'd be posting a ficlet every Friday in February...well...what I *meant* was...um, yeah.  Look, we all know: my fail was EPIC.  Work has been crazy and I've had too much fic to write and far too little time to do it in, 'nuff said.  Plus, I rewrote and rewrote and rewrote this one...and I'm still iffy about parts of it.  Thank you all for hanging in with me, and I hope there are some of you out there still interested in this.  I won't make any promises this time...but the next one (which shows how George is dealing with their separation), is quite well underway already...This is 6/13 and takes place three weeks after "Hey, Jealousy!" so around about mid-November, 1998.

Title:  Breaking Bonds
Character Pairing:  George/Luna for  [info]rarepair_shorts
Prompt:  Not out of the woods yet
Rating:  PG-13 (just to be safe...a couple of cuss-words from G and a little kissin')
Word Count:  1,577 (sorry it's a bit long for the comm...but I had a lot of plot to be worked through)
Summary:  The aftermath of George's Hogsmeade freak out....things take a turn for the worse.
Author's Note:  Huge apologies for how long this took me!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Thank you all for waiting so patiently!!!!!  I've had a lot going on in RL, and I just got away from these for awhile, then I felt I'd lost Luna's "voice" and it was a struggle to get it back.  I *think* I'm there, though!!  And as a challenge to myself, I'm trying to post the next four ficlets on a weekly basis...so Every Friday In February there should be a new installment in this series.  This one, and the next several were heavily influenced in terms of mood by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova's album The Swell Season, especially the songs "Leave," "The Moon," and "Alone Apart."  Really though, the feel of the whole album just seemed like George and Luna to me.  This is ficlet 5/13 and takes place one week after the previous ficlet, so it is set on Halloween 1998 (and it flashes back to October 24).  Warning:  ANGST ahead!!
Link to Prompt Table:  Somehow LJ ate my Prompt Table. I'm running out the door right now, but will fix this later.

Also, in my journal entry there are two LJ cuts for the story in the same post.  I have tried to get rid of the extra one, but nothing I do works.  Either one will lead you to the story.  Sorry for the screwy post!!

Title: Hey, Jealousy!
Character Pairing: George/Luna for

[community profile] rarepair_shorts
Prompt:
The other dumb chump
Rating: PG-13 (just to be safe, though it's probably more like PG, really)
Word Count: 1,332
Summary: George surprises Luna with a visit at the first Hogsmeade weekend of the new school year, and proceeds to put his foot in his mouth in a *big* way.
Author's Notes:  Well, here it is....the long-awaited Hogsmeade weekend installment!!  Ta da!!  Unfortunately, for those of you who waited so patiently for this ficlet, I have to say it *is* super-angsty and ends on a rather evil cliffie.  I apologize in advance!!  But I promise that I won't leave the characters twisting in the wind for *too* long.... ;)  This is 4/13 for my claim and takes place on October 24, 1998 which I have decreed was a Saturday for the purposes of this fic.  I hope you all enjoy!!

Title:  The Missing Piece
Character Pairing:  George/Luna
Prompt:  Children of the depression
Rating: PG-13/super-light R (just for the beginning section....)
Word Count: 1,336 (my shortest yet!!)
Summary:  George can't sleep, and if he can't have what he really wants, well then, cake will have to do.  Cameo by Shirtless!Ron....
Author's Notes:  Urgh.  This one fought me every step of the way...I was stuck for days about 2/3 of the way through.  In the end though, I think I'm fairly happy with the way it turned out.  This is 3/13 for the claim, and takes place a little more than a week after "Rumble and Bumble."  Hope you all enjoy!!

Title: Rumble and Bumble
Character Pairing: George/Luna
Prompt: So much for having a lot to do
Rating: PG
Word Count:  1,417 (I'm getting briefer with each go-round!!)
Summary:  Luna brings George a present and they both get rather more than they'd bargained for....
Author's Notes:  This is 2/13 on my claim and takes place a couple of weeks after "In The Gloaming."  The fics in my claim won't all be like chapters of one fic, but they will all be related somehow and in the same universe....enjoy!!
