Title: Party Favor
Character Pairing: Scorpius/Lorcan

Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 624
Summary: Scorpius finds a reason to go to the annual Halloween Party.
Author's Notes: I racked my brain trying to find a couple to use for this and I came up with this one. It's a bit AU with Roxanne and Lorcan being in the same year as Rose and Albus. There is mentions of bullying as well. That should be it. Enjoy! Mods can I have a tag for Scorpius/Lorcan please? Thank you!
Scorpius groaned when music from the annual Halloween Party in the Ravenclaw Common Room reached his dorm. He tried to ignore the noise by concentrating deeper in his book, but it didn’t work. When he couldn’t ignore the music anymore, he pushed his book aside with a sigh and sat back in his chair. Another year, another party he wasn’t invited to. Scorpius grew used to it after third year, but it didn’t dull the pain of being ignored every year. Not even his workload in seventh year changed that.
Scorpius ignored the way his stomach twisted as he returned to his book.
“There you are! I wondered where you wandered off to.”
Scorpius turned to the familiar voice with a small smile. “Hi Lorcan, yeah, I’ve been here trying to read.”
“Why did you leave?”
“I didn’t want to ruin your fun with my mood.”
“I was having a lot of fun, it stopped when I didn’t see you. I thought I did something wrong.” Lorcan said softly as he twirled a loose lock of his hair.
Scorpius shook his head. “You didn’t, but I didn’t want mess up your time there.”
“You wouldn’t. There were ton of treats and yummy things to eat and good music to dance to. I nabbed a bag of candies for you.” Lorcan walked over and placed it next to Scorpius’s book on the table.
“Thanks.” Scorpius reached for it when Lorcan took his hand and linked their fingers together.
“How come you didn’t stay?” Lorcan whispered softly.
Scorpius swallowed the lump from the sadness in Lorcan’s eyes. “When Donald Finnegan released those Cornish Pixies I had a feeling I would be one of their targets so I left. It would be better than having those creatures pull and tug on my clothes.”
“Al got them out so you can go back downstairs, if you want.”
“I don’t know…” Scorpius trailed off as he looked at their hands.
“You’ll be with me, Al, Roxie, and Rosie. Anyone who makes fun of you or tries anything will hear something from me. I tutor most of them anyway, so if they don’t want a bad grade they’ll listen.” Lorcan nodded with a smug smile.
Scorpius chuckled it always amused him to see his sweet boyfriend use such tactics. He squeezed his and looked up at Lorcan. “I guess I should go to at least one party this year, right?”
“That’s the spirit!” Lorcan kissed his cheek. “We can go down there for a few minutes and come back whenever you want.”
“Okay, sounds good.” Scorpius closed the book and offered Lorcan a few piece of candy on their way to the door. He squeezed Lorcan’s hand again when they stopped in front of the door.
“We can stay here if you want.” Lorcan said.
“No, I want to go this year, just a little nervous.” Scorpius said.
“We’ll go when you’re ready.” Lorcan said as he placed a light kiss on his lips.
Scorpius placed a hand on his shoulder as he relaxed against him. He pulled back and rested his forehead against Lorcan’s. “I’m ready.”
Lorcan smiled, he placed a quick kiss on his lips and walked out the room. They walked downstairs into the common room and took a seat next to Albus. Scorpius nervously shifted when a few eyes landed on him. They turned away when Al and Roxie talked about a prank while Rose and Lorcan mentioned their tutoring schedule.
Scorpius settled in his chair and tapped his foot to a new song. Lorcan wrapped an arm around his waist and pulled him close to his side. Scorpius rested his head on Lorcan’s shoulder with a content smile.
The party wasn’t so bad, after all.
