Mod Announcement: Rare Pairs Challenge

Hello everyone!

We are pleased to announce a brand new fest for this spring. It’s a little bit different from most of them so we hope you like it.

The aim of this fest is to write as many rare pairings as you can between March 1st and May 3rd. There is no signup deadline and you can post up to 11:59pm in your time zone on May 3rd.

There is also a list of 50 prompts at the end of the post. You do not have to use them if you don’t want to but they are there for inspiration.

How it works:

- Reply to this post expressing your interest and how many pairings you want to challenge yourself with.
- Post your fics with our header and tag(s), see below.

Rules:

1. All fics must be between 200 words and 1500 words. Art is also encouraged.
2. No banned pairings. Please to refer to this post for them.
3. Each fic must contain a different rare pair as the main pairing. If you decide to do threesome pairings you can also have two of the characters as a main pairing. For example if you write Bill/Hermione/Charlie you can still write Bill/Hermione, Charlie/Hermione, or Bill/Charlie.
4. You can combine this with any other challenge you're taking part in, as well as your rare pair shorts claim.
5. NC-17 materiel must be posted to your journal (or what other site you decide to post on) and a link put in your post. The header should be posted here.
6. Use the following header and tags to post:

This fest is low pressure so don’t worry if you express interest but don’t end up posting. It’s meant to be fun and a way to step out your comfort zone.

Yay to more rare pairing challenges. I'm not sure how many pairings I could write yet. Maybe 2 or 3?

Hmm. If I aim at one short a week for that period it would be 9 pairings if I'm reading my computer's calendar.

That's a significant uptick on my current writing without being too absurd I think.

I always find it better to underestimate how many I will do then I’m not disappointed if I don’t get to the goal.five sounds reasonable though
