[personal profile] rarepairs_mod posting in [community profile] rarepair_shorts
No big changes have been made to the rules; this is just a re-posting so they'll be under the general mod account.

Please read through these rules carefully before making a claim and posting to the community. Thank you. :)

1. Only one user can claim a certain pairing at a time. We are a low-pressure community, and you can take as long as you want to complete your claim - but please don't fall off the face of the Earth and leave your claim hanging. All we ask is that, at the very least, you post the first fic in a timely manner. Once you are started, you're pretty much locked in; you don't need to worry about time after that. We're actually very understanding when it comes to time issues. :)

If it's been ten months to a year since you made your claim, and you still have not posted your first fic, someone else may be able to take that claim away from you. Should this happen, we will always contact you first to see if you are still interested/able to complete the claim. The claim will be given to said interested party if no response is heard from you within a few days. If no one else is interested in your claim, then you still get to hold on to it.

If you are interested in a pairing that's already been claimed, let us know - there is a slight chance you may be able to have that claim, but don't get your hopes too high.

2. You may only claim one pairing at a time. These pairings are off-limits in this community. (If you are unsure whether a pairing is rare, please direct questions at that same post.)

3. Fics must be either drabbles or ficlets. As a general rule, we'd like you to keep it 1000 words and under. However, we know some of you tend to be more verbose, so it's okay if you go over by a little bit. The absolute maximum for all events and challenges is 2,500 words. If you find yourself going over that, you must cut it down.

4. Fics must be rated no higher than R. Your fic doesn't have to be overly graphic to get your point across - really.

5. Format your posts as follows:

Title:
Character Pairing:
Prompt:
Rating:
Word Count:
Summary: (optional)
Author's Notes: (include any warnings and such)
Link to Prompt Table: (so we can see your progress)
LJ-cut or leave a link to the fic.

Please unlock your posts in which you post prompt tables and fics. We would really appreciate this so we don't have to bother you about it. We all want to see what you've been working on!

6. In the subject line of your post, use the following format:
FIC TYPE: Title of fic (Pairing)
For example, DRABBLE: The Morning After (Percy/Hermione)

7. Please use the appropriate tags. If you are posting your first fic, you may not be able to add your tags - we will do that for you. After that, you should be able to use your tags without problems.

Each post requires three tags:
- *het, *slash, or *femmeslash (whichever applies to your post)
- user: yourusername
- pairing: yourclaim

8. Events and challenges may have specific posting/tagging rules of their own, so please be sure to read the guidelines for such events thoroughly.

9. If you'd like to drop your claim for whatever reason, make sure you let us know somehow, either by commenting here or to the claims post.

10. Please do not post any advertisements for other communities. If you wish to affiliate with us and have us post announcements for your comm, please contact us by PM and ask, and we will consider posting for you.

We reserve the right to amend these rules at any given time. Failure to comply with these rules may result in post deletion (when applicable), but usually we just give friendly reminders. We will always issue you any warnings via PM or comments.

If you have any general questions or would like to affiliate one of your communities with ours, reply to this post.

I thought it can't hurt to ask because the last fics I saw with this pairing were from 2009. I'm interested in Charlie/Neville.

I would love to have [livejournal.com profile] hp_diversity affiliate with your comm, as really any pairing involving a character of color is a rare pairing. I already pimp [livejournal.com profile] rarepair_shorts on [livejournal.com profile] hp_diversity whenver you have an event going on. I'm wondering what affiliation means for you, though, if you're not allowing any advertising of other comms here.

Ah, thanks for the clarification. :) That's great, I'll add [livejournal.com profile] rarepair_shorts as an affiliate on [livejournal.com profile] hp_diversity. Like I said, our character sets and pairings jibe really well!

Hi! I completed all my prompts. Are we supposed to notify you when finished?
