Title: Melted Away
Pairing: Harry/Susan
Request: party, dancing
Rating: PG13
Word Count: 313
Summary: He could see himself spending a lot of time with Susan in the future.
Author's Notes: Even though Harry dances in the fic, I know that he can't dance in the books and I've addressed this in the story.
Susan was dancing with Harry Potter at Hannah and Neville's engagement party at the Leaky Cauldron. The two of them hadn't really seen each other since the end of the war, but they had hit it off when they started talking earlier.
The song they were dancing to was a fast Latin one which had a sensual beat. Their bodies moved as one and the rest of the world melted away.
Neither of them had noticed the looks they were getting from everyone else, nor the fact that one guest in particular had stomped out as all they could see was each other.
When the song changed they just stood there for a moment taking in what had happened. They knew something was different, but they were not quite sure what.
"Do you want a drink?" Harry asked panting slightly.
"I would love one," Susan replied and led him off the makeshift dance floor towards the bar.
"Two firewhiskys please," Susan asked the bartender.
After downing their drinks, they stood for a moment in silence.
"I didn't know you could dance like that."
"Neither did I. I'm usually rubbish at dancing, even after someone has tried to teach me," Harry replied shrugging slightly as he remembered the opening dance for the Yule Ball.
"I think that you were brilliant. All you've got to do is follow the music," Susan said complimenting him.
The rest of the night was spent drinking, dancing, and talking until the early hours of the morning when they were both so tired that they
went home.
"Owl me, Harry," Susan said as she stepped into the fireplace to Floo home.
"I will," he replied smiling.
Harry hadn't felt like this for a very long time, and even though it had been only a few hours, he could see himself spending a lot of time with Susan in the future.
