Author's Notes: I totally decided to do this last minute, I hope my "wish grant" is up to your standards, [livejournal.com profile] deathlydragon. This is a fun fest!

James Sirius frequented the same café every Wednesday morning before heading off to his Auror-training. It was the only morning he had to himself and the only morning he allowed himself to not be so under the pressure of being the son of Harry Potter.

Harry Potter, Head Auror, the famous Saviour—

“Back again, I see.”

James looked up from his coffee, correction, James stopped scowling at his coffee—and looked up to find Scorpius Malfoy staring down at him with one eyebrow raised and that smug look that James always wanted to either slap off or kiss off. He wasn’t sure which one.

“What do you want, Malfoy?”

“What do I want?” Malfoy scoffed. “You are the one that follows me around like a—”

“I don’t follow you around, you prat,” James retorted. He took a deep breath and tried to calm down. If his dad found out that James had yet again started another row with Malfoy, he wouldn’t hear the end of it. His aunt Hermione would go on and on about his dad’s rivalry with Malfoy’s dad and…James just didn’t have time for that.

“I’ve told you, I come here every Wednesday morning, and apparently, so do you. I do not follow you; it’s merely a coincidence. I wouldn’t have even known that you were here today, if you hadn’t just come to my table and interrupted my—my—me.”

James really hated how Malfoy just brought it out of him. That, and how he was just always so tongue-tied around the git. Just because he was bloody gorgeous didn’t mean that he had to torture James like that.

“Say whatever you want, Potter,” Malfoy said, and he had an awkward smirk on his face that only annoyed James more.

“What do you want, Malfoy?”

Malfoy seemed a bit hesitant. His smirk had all but disappeared and a new sort of twinkle emerged in his eyes. Great, what was he going to say now?

“I’ll be back here next Wednesday morning,” Malfoy answered, and James only scowled at that. This wasn’t any new piece of information. “So, perhaps I could buy you your coffee and a croissant, and maybe we can sit at the same table?”

“Do you want to make reservations just to be sure?” James teased. What was Malfoy on?

“If you insist.” Malfoy’s smirk was back.

James rolled his eyes and stood up off his chair to take his leave.

“So, what do you say, Potter?” Malfoy asked, sounding just a bit nervous.

“Fine. But, it’s not a date,” James said resolutely.

“We’ll see,” Malfoy answered. He picked up his to-go cup of coffee and raised it towards James. “We’ll see.”

Great, James was so utterly screwed.
