The new mods say hello!

As you may have guessed from a recent post by![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
peskywhistpaw, some change is afoot in this lovely comm of ours. chimbomba and peskywhistpaw created rarepair_shorts back in 2007, and for that genius idea we shall forever be grateful! chimbomba has since left fandom, and for the last two years peskywhistpaw has run the comm all by herself, which definitely deserves kudos. As she has now decided that it is time to take a step back and be the wise co-mod to help out in times of need and crisis (which we hope won't come so that she can enjoy her retirement :) ), we would like to say: Thank you to both of you for creating the comm, for running it and for letting us new mods step in and take over.
Who are these new mod, you ask?
We are a team of three, all of us (more or less active) members ofrarepair_shorts. So we are not total strangers and, like you, we want to keep this community going as it is - with a few changes and addition here and there :)
Crystal (bluemermaid) is a Massachusetts college student in her mid-twenties, who's been in the Potter fandom since 2005 (though she only got really active in 2009). She adores rare pairs, is addicted to lj, and is a huge fan of femmeslash.
Julie (myownmuggle) is a veteran of the Potterverse, having been a moderator at MuggleNet FanFiction, a test marker and mentor at Perfect Imagination, and an active member of a number of HP-centric communities here on LJ. She’s been a lover of rarepairs almost since the beginning, with Oliver/Hermione being her OTP. Outside of fandom, Julie works for a government agency in the US, rides horses, is slowly turning her apartment into a library and absolutely refuses to believe she’s staring at 40.
Nathan (nathaniel_hp) is too old to be a student, but enjoys uni too much to care. He also works at a library and loves being surrounded by books.
Nathan discovered fandom around 2004 and has since then been reading, beta-reading and writing Harry Potter fanfiction. His OTP is a rarepair - Remus/Ron - and he really enjoys the challenge and potential that rarepairs offer.
Now that we've taken over the reins here atrarepair_shorts, our first order of business will be a bit of housekeeping: cleaning up the membership, checking in on current and abandoned claims, updating included and excluded pairings, among other things.
We’ll have both familiar and new activities coming up – with our first big adventure this summer!
