Hey everyone! I hope your week has been off to a good start!
I've been doing some thinking about the tagging in this community, and I've come up with a couple of questions for everyone.
First, do you think we should have usernames as part of the tags? We have one person who has already finished one claim and has claimed another, and we have others who have responded to challenges while still keeping up with their claims. Putting usernames as tags might therefore be an easy way to keep track of what everyone is doing within the community.
Second, what do you think about an additional tag on each post, specifying whether it is het, slash, or fem(me)slash? I know that when I am browsing a community like this one, looking for something to read, I am usually searching for one of those three in particular.
Additionally, if we choose to do that, which spelling do you prefer: femslash or femmeslash? ;-)
Those were just some ideas I had; I haven't run them by anyone yet, but I just thought I ought to put them out there as options. I like to keep things organized, but if you think that putting at least three tags on each post is too much, let me know! :D
Also, I just want to remind everyone to keep putting your pairing tags on all of your posts. It's okay if you've forgotten every once in a while, or if you hadn't previously had a tag. I went through everything, and now every claim (with the exception of those whose fics haven't been posted to this community) has its own tag. (Huzzah!) And for the most part, you've all been really great about following the posting/tagging/etc. format. THANK YOU SO MUCH for being so great. ♥
Anyway, just let me know your thoughts on this! And if you have any other suggestions, feel free to voice them.
PS: Do you think it's about time we change the community layout?

Date: 2008-02-19 07:46 am (UTC)I like the idea of tagging with usernames
I guess if one uses the tags to find fics then one for het, slash, femslash would be a good idea otherwise I think the post header given with all the posts is sufficent in letting people know what it is

Date: 2008-02-19 10:53 am (UTC)I agree that username and such are great tags to add. (femslash - but I don't mind either way).
Speaking of which, I really need to finish my pairing.

Date: 2008-02-19 06:19 pm (UTC)I don't know if a het/slash/femmeslash tag is really necessary, but it might be useful for people who are specifically looking for one of the three. BTW, I generally use femmeslash, but it makes no difference to me either way, though. :)

(If only I could be so organized in real life! Hahaha...)
