Title: Reach
Character Pairing: Adrian Pucey/Penelope Clearwater
Prompt: 7. to feel or not to feel
Rating: PG due to very slight innuendo pertaining to a short skirt and some language.
Word Count: 265
Summary: Pen never was a Gryffindor.

Penelope had watched the smarmy bastard for months; he'd tried once to steal into her office after hours, but she'd been well prepared, it took all of her poise not to laugh at the large purple bruise that blossomed on his cheek the next morning thanks to her door being particularly cleverly charmed.

They were both early risers and late workers; him for the morning press conferences he held on behalf of the Minister, her to beat the other Unspeakables to the best research assignments. She avoided the press wing, but he always had reason to snoop around her work, damned Slytherin, and she found herself annoyed by him more and more often, thinking of him even when he hadn't shown his face in days. That face... High cheekbones, dark blue eyes, short cut - but curly - dark hair. Pale lips that he instinctively licked when talking about work, and Pen found herself mirroring his action as she thought of him now, cursing herself upon realization.

"Oh damn him to hell," she swore to herself, crossing her legs under her desk, her short pleated skirt only decent thanks to the robes she wore. She hadn't seen him in days and the thought that he might be bored of their bickering - or really, that she might be bothered by his becoming bored - was too much for her. Licking her lips again, she stood, leaving her plain black robes behind, and went to find him - wondering what those pale lips might feel like if only she had the fortitude to reach for them.
