lezonne_fanfic, you gave some brilliant prompts and this was the one which stuck out in my mind.
Lily Evans had her books scattered around her bed so she could get ahead with her homework before the Gryffindor Christmas party that night. She knew that it would last until the early hours of the morning and that she would lose several hours of work time the next day.
"Hi, Lily, did you know that the party is starting in half an hour?" her dormmate asked.
Lily looked at her watch and could not believe how quickly the time had passed. She scrambled off her bed and put the books away as fast as she could, and then headed for the bathroom. It didn't take long for her to get ready, even though she took her time applying her make-up.
The sound of music hit Lily's ears as she left her dorm and walked down the stairs to see how the Common Room had been transformed.
"Well, well, don't you look like a treat, Evans," Sirius said as he walked over to her.
"Is that supposed to be a compliment?" Lily asked.
"Of course it is. Dance with me?" he asked holding out his hand.
"Yes," Lily replied without hesitation.
He pulled her close and they started moving to the rhythm of a fast but sensual song. Their bodies moved in sync like they were connected as one, and the rest of the Common Room melted away as they only focused on each other.
At the end of the song they stopped to catch their breath and looked at each other. They leaned in closer as if it was the most natural thing in the world, and as their lips were about to meet they were interrupted.
"Lily," Mary said tapping her on the arm to get her attention.
Lily blinked.
"Sorry, Mary. Is there something wrong?"
"The other girls want to talk to you about something," Mary replied somewhat sympathetically.
Lily knew exactly what they wanted to talk about and wanted to head in the other direction but knew that it was best to get it over and done with.
Turning back to Sirius, "I better talk to them, or they won't leave us alone. Save me another dance," she said smiling.
"Sure, come and find me when you're done."
Walking behind Mary to where the other girls were, Lily was annoyed that they had interrupted her time with Sirius.
Although they were in the same year and in the same house they had never been particularly close. It wasn't until third year in which Lily noticed just how attractive she found him to be. Her observation had developed into a full blown crush which only Mary was aware of.
Reaching the other girls, they instantly bombarded her with questions which she couldn't distinguish.
"Hold on, hold on. Can you ask one question at a time because I couldn't hear what you were saying then. Helen?"
"Did he ask you to the party?"
"No, he came over and asked me to dance when I came down," Lily answered.
"Why did you dance with him?" asked Jane.
"Because I wanted to."
"Do you fancy him?" asked the last girl.
"Does it matter if I do?" Lily asked back.
"Not really," the girl replied shrugging.
"We just don't want you to do something you might regret," Jane said.
"Who said anything about regret? I am going to enjoy myself and if that means spending time with Sirius then I will," Lily said.
"Okay. Just be careful though, Lily,"
"I will be. Does anyone want a drink?" Lily asked.
"We're fine, thanks," Helen answered.
"I'll go with you, Lily," Mary said.
After they had made their way to the drinks table, Lily and Mary stood to the side talking.
"I'm sorry, Lily. I didn't know they were going to be like that," Mary apologised.
"It's no problem, Mary. It could have been a lot worse than it was. I am glad that it's done with though," Lily said as she sipped her drink.
"I'm going to find Mark, are you going to be alright on your own?"
"I'll be fine, Mary. You go and have fun with Mark," Lily replied.
She stood by the drinks table for a few minutes and turned to move but she couldn't.
Lily was stuck under the mistletoe and couldn't move until she kissed someone. She knew exactly who she wanted to kiss, but she couldn't seem to find him amongst the crowd.
"Stuck, Evans?" a voice asked from her left hand side.
Lily shivered.
She had imagined something like this in her dreams only to be disappointed when she woke up.
"Yes, I don't suppose you could help me, could you?" she asked seductively as she turned her head towards him.
"It would be my pleasure, Miss Evans," Sirius said as he leaned in and placed his lips on hers.
It was soft at first and then it grew more demanding. Neither of them stopped until they needed to breathe.
"That was amazing," Lily said breathlessly.
"Can we do that again?" Sirius asked.
"Anytime," she replied.
