Rare Pair Shorts

Oh my gosh. This whole series was so good, I've no idea why I didn't read it sooner. In the fics that were set during their Hogwarts years, you could just feel the burning and the tension between them, the way they danced around each other. Guh. And then to see Amos and Lucius drawn to one another again, after all those years. I especially love how you had the series end, right after Cedric's death – though Amos breaking down like that pretty much broke my heart. It's such a messed up image, to have Amos clinging to Lucius for comfort, sort of, when Lucius was actually there when Cedric was killed. So messed up, and so good. And I love that it ends with Lucius trying to convince himself that he can handle not being with Amos, whereas Amos seems pretty well over Lucius. I love me some good angst, and this really provided it – even with bits of fluffiness, like Lucius's Valentine! Oh, goodness. I always got the feeling that Lucius loved Amos a little bit more than Amos loved Lucius, so again, it was so... satisfyingly unsatisfying, I guess you could say, to see that at the end.
