The dark lord rose from his bed and studied his reflection in the mirror.

No! Not the dark lord! The dark lord was no more! For he had been saved by the incredible power of truest love.

As he took in his reborn visage, he ruminated on the twisted path that had led him to where he was today.

To think, he had once scorned love as weakness! Now he knew better, for last night had been truly a revelation. The memory of his lover's sweet kisses and gentle caresses, the tenderness of their lovemaking, was enough to undo a lifetime of hatred and prejudice. Oh, everything had changed now!

The figure on the bed stirred, and the no-longer-dark lord's heart leapt. He rushed to the bedside and stroked his beloved's grizzled cheek, running his fingers through the long tangle of hair. Lips opened, revealing teeth the same beautiful yellow shade as the most perfect sunrise. His lover spoke, and He-Who-Could-Now-Be-Named thrilled to the pure music of that voice.

"Mornin'."

So perfect, so succinct! What a brilliant turn of phrase! He smiled with the sheer joy of it all and heard his voice tremble as he replied. "Good morning, Argus."
