We're seeking input on the future of the community. We'd like to hear from anyone interested in participating in the future, whether you're a past participant or new to the comm. Traditionally, there have been multiple events a year, and we'd like to hear from you as to what you're most interested in. We will keep the format of Summer Wishlist as-is, but we want to solicit input as to what event we should do in the spring.
Some possibilities - events the comm has run in the past - include:
-Rare pair challenge (where you operate according to a challenge set by the mods, such as "write a rare pair you've never written before")
-Trope challenge (writing a trope randomly generated by the mods, pairing of your choice)
-Ship challenge (writing ships or characters randomly generated by the mods)
If you're interested and have preferences, please go vote on the options here! The poll will close in 2 weeks, on February 5.
And a handful of other announcements: First, we're running the fest on dreamwidth only from now on, so please come here instead of livejournal for updates. Second, we're adapting the banned pairings list (i.e., non-rare pairs and so not eligible for events in this comm) according to the number of fics on Ao3. Ships will be eligible if they have fewer than 2,500 fics on ao3 (without caveats, so this includes incomplete fic, fic where the ship is a side pairing, and fic in languages other than English). Please click here for the updated/revised list of banned ships. (And if we've missed a ship, feel free to point that out!)
