Summary: Ron had once taken up the occupation of Harry Potter’s knight. It had been, he thought at the time, a very good career choice. He would sacrifice himself so that the hero of the hour, the savior of the wizarding world could do his job and dispose of that evil overlord, Voldemort. He had been young. He had been innocent. He hadn’t yet been exposed to the harsh, cruel world that repeatedly threw him to the sidelines regardless of how many times he scraped his knees, bled, and cried.
