"Well then, what do you say?" Adrian began casually, not even bothering with a hello.
Pen Clearwater nearly spat at the look on his face - smug, Slytherin, wealthy, above the rest of the room. He'd stopped her in the hallway with a stern hand on her arm; he was just the smallest bit taller than her and built well in his shoulders. She licked her lips as she looked him up and down and her gaze came to rest once more on his superior face. "Excuse me?" She asked.
"I would have thought the question's obvious. Ravenclaw, even." He half-explained, smiling. The Ministry's Press Secretary continued in a low voice, so that only Pen could hear him in the crowded corridor, "We've been tip-toeing around each other for weeks. You may be part of the Department of Mysteries, but secrets are not your forte`. How's dinner sound? Drinks after? My estate, tonight. Be there by eight. I would appreciate if you wore one of those little skirts of yours; they so deserve to come out from under your robes more often." He let go of her arm and made his way back into the crowd of the Ministry at lunch, calling out a colleague's name as if he'd only had work on the mind all day. Pen leaned more of her weight against the wall he'd cornered her with, her heart taking her by surprise with it's rapid beat, her breath shallow.
