Sirius was spiralling. The bloody house was his mother personified. Darkness lay all around, ready for the capture.

He was drinking too much. Almost nighty. Especially after Order meetings. He was so fucking useless. Everyone knew it. Snivellus knew it.

He was too old to still be thinking of the man as such, but time was meaningless to Sirius. He had lost so many years in Azkaban. And anyway, Snape deserved it.

It was another dark night, another lonely night, and Sirius was back at the kitchen table, a half empty bottle of elven whisky in front of him. He was taking sips straight from its green glass mouth.

Suddenly, there were footsteps on the staircase, and Kingsley appeared. He was frowning deeply.

“You haven’t moved from that spot.”

Sirius gave a drunken shrug. “It’s no matter. What do I’ve got to move for?”

Still frowning, Kingsley sat down beside him. He was a regal man (ha), a serious man. His golden earring was quite fetching. He stared at Sirius with his dark, pretty eyes.

“You’ll be Minister once this damn war is over,” Sirius slurred.

Kingsley cocked his head. “Do you really think so?”

Sirius rolled his eyes and Summoned two old tumblers, their glass cloudy with age. He poured them both a bit of whisky and shoved a tumbler to his companion. “Drink up before it’s too late.”

Kingsley raised a single eyebrow. His mouth curled up. Good, he’s no longer frowning, Sirius thought.

Still staring, Kingsley brought the tumbler to his lips. He took a sip. “When this damn war is over, you will finally have your freedom.”

“I’m not making it that far.”

“Why not?”

Sirius gulped down his whisky and slammed the glass back to the old table. “Because I’m cursed, Kingsley. I wasn’t meant to be happy. I was meant to be doomed.”

“You were meant to be happy.”

“I haven’t been happy in over fifteen years.”

Kingsley dragged his gaze away. “Well … perhaps I can help you be happy tonight. Pour me some more.”

Grinning, Sirius did what the other man requested. They sat in silence as they drank. Somewhere in the house, a boggart rustled in a wooden wardrobe. If he listened closely, he could hear his dead ancestors muttering to themselves in their frames.

“What would you do if you weren’t fighting a war?” Sirius blurted out.

Kingsley had to think about it. “Shag my way across Britain.”

Sirius barked out a laugh. “Me too!”

They laughed together, uproariously. It felt really good.

“What sort of women do you like?” Sirius asked, his words slurring.

Kingsley gave him a hot, secretive smile. “Why do you think I fancy women?”

“Don’t you?”

Kingsley shrugged. “Sure. But I’d rather shag men.”

Sirius almost dropped his tumbler. His face was suddenly very hot. “Oh. I didn’t know.”

There was silence again. Kingsley was staring at him once more.

“I assumed we had similar tastes.”

Sirius’ gaze snapped to his face. “Why?”

Kingsley shrugged. “Oh, just an inkling. Was I wrong?”

Sirius shook his head. He didn’t know how to properly explain. “No … but …”

“But what?”

“I’m not very experienced,” Sirius said finally. “I’m not … it’s been a long time since I’ve felt anything for … anyone, really.”

“Can I kiss you, Sirius?”

He looked up quickly. “You want to?”

Kingsley’s dark eyes were glittering. “Yes, I do,” he said softly.

“Oh, then. Sure. Go ahead.”

Kingsley scooted his chair closer. Then, staring into his eyes, he leaned in and pressed his lips to Sirius’. He tasted of clove and whisky. His mouth was very warm.

Merlin, Sirius thought, moaning.

Kingsley moaned, too. He touched his tongue to Sirius’ lips, asking for entrance. Sirius opened his mouth, wanting more.

Kingsley kissed him deeply, their tongues touching tentatively. Sirius was very shy.

Framing his face, Kingsley whispered, “It’s all right, you can trust me. Just let me in.”

Sirius moaned and let him take control.

Somehow Sirius found himself standing, pressed against an old wall. Kingsley was just a little taller than him. He kissed him over and over. He was so fucking talented with his tongue.

“Can I touch you?” Kingsley murmured.

“You can do anything.”

Kingsley’s hand found Sirius through his trousers. He stroked him, awakening his arousal. Sirius gasped and clutched at him.

“Does it feel good?”

“Yes.”

Trembling, moaning, Kingsley got them both off against the wall, stroking them together hotly.

Later, they sat up in the parlour, listening to the wireless. It was very late. The portraits were snoring in their frames.

“I can’t remember the last time another person made me come,” Sirius said, utterly relaxed.

Kingsley grinned at him. “Not even a woman?”

“Especially not a woman.”

Kingsley pulled him closer, his arm now wrapped around Sirius. “You are gorgeous,” he whispered in his ear.

Sirius laughed darkly. “Not anymore.”

“No, you are. You are a beautiful man.”

Sirius bit his lip. “So are you.”

Kingsley played with a bit of his hair. “Will you let me cook for you one of these nights? I would like that very much. I make a brilliant steak.”

“Yeah, sure,” Sirius laughed. “Anything.”

“And next time … will you let me take you to bed?”

Sirius leaned in and kissed him. “Yes.”

The house wasn’t so dark anymore. And for once, Sirius wasn’t thinking of his mother, or all the mistakes he made in his life. For once, he was thinking about the future, and he was looking forward to it.

What a great pairing! Two very sexy men. And I love that Kingsley is bringing Sirius some joy. Nice work.
