Hannah was looking for her friend Kevin and finally found him in the library, his nose buried into a huge, old tome.

"Kevin, come take a walk with me." She asked excitedly as she slumped into the chair besides him.
"I need to hand that in on Tuesday." He said absent-mindedly, turning a page.
"Oh, come on. It is Thursday. Plenty to time to finish." Hannah insisted, impatiently tapping her foot.
"Hannah, it is freezing outside. What motivation I have to be outside?” He finally looked up.
"Because it is snowing. The first snow of the season. Special. Magical." Hannah rattled bouncing. "Please? Just an hour? I promise I even send you back."
Kevin shut the book with a soft thud. "One hour. Not a minute more."
Hannah grinned in triumph and dragged him out the library at his hand.

"I think you were right." Kevin said later when they stood on the grounds, both warmly wrapped in their clothes and respective scarfs and Hannah with a woolen cap on her blond curls. "It holds some magic."
Hannah nodded and looked up. "It is so peaceful, isn't it?” She asked blinking as the tiny snowflakes caught in her lashes.
"Beautiful." Kevin muttered, staring not at the snowflakes in the air but at Hannah.
"Hmmm? What did you say?” Hannah looked into his eyes, still blinking because of the snowflakes caught in her lashes.
"Nothing. Your lashes are white." He smiled.
"Oh." Hannah reached up to wipe eyes but Kevin's hand stopped her and pulled her close.
"No, it looks pretty." They stood close enough for Hannah's breath to bounce off Kevin's cloaked chest.
"Hannah?”
"Huh?”
"I- I would really like to kiss you right now."
"Oh."
"Never mind." He started to turn away.
"No. Wait." Kevin stopped mid-turn.
"I think I'd like it very much if you kissed me."
Kevin's lips were onto hers before she had finished.

"The first snow of the season." Kevin said, looking out of the window into a white flurry against the darkening sky.
Hannah hummed and cuddled into his chest. "Let's take a walk later when the midget stops bouncing on my bladder."
Kevin reached for Hannah's belly where the bump at the lower abdomen had become distinctly visible over the last months. Hannah smiled and guided his hand lower, so he could feel the movements of the baby.
"Magical." He breathed.
"Just like the first snow."
