I don't see what the deadline is for when the fics are due? Is it in the rules and I've just missed it?

It's sort of hidden... I ought to put it somewhere more noticeable. It's in rule number 6. They're due December 18. :)

Do the characters have to be romantically involved? Some of the prompts don't seem to go that way to me, so I'm just wondering.

There should at the very least be an implied romance, or it should be pre-romance. So the characters don't have to necessarily be in a romantic situation; there just has to be the possibility of romance sometime in the future (or that they were involved in the past, or it is/was unrequited, etc.). So you couldn't write a story about Weasley family gen, but you could write about Sirius and Lily just hanging out and talking while James isn't around, or what have you.

I know the fics are due on 18 December, but when does posting actually begin?

Hopefully one week later (so, around Christmas), but if the majority of the participants have requested extensions (which I don't believe will happen), then we would push it back perhaps another week. Basically, we're aiming for Christmas.
