WISHLISTS: Savages (Albus/Gellert)

Author: LeontinaBowie
Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] evening12
Title: Savages
Pairing: Albus/Gellert
Request/Prompt Used: Enjoying the city life
Rating: PG
Word Count: 350
Summary: Albus and Gellert take some time in Florence, just the two of them
Notes: I adore Florence so I couldn’t resist choosing it as a city for Albus and Gellert to enjoy. The title really has nothing to do with the story, but the song of the same name by Marina and the Diamonds really sums up a young Albus, I think :) I hope you like this, [livejournal.com profile] evening12

“Open your eyes.”

Gellert stepped back and watched, smiling as Albus’s bright blue eyes widened as he took in the sight of the terracotta skyline, the Duomo standing tall amongst it all.

“Florence?” Albus said, glancing at Gellert and giving him an amused smile. “You weren’t jesting when you said we were making a trip.”

Firenze,” Gellert repeated in Italian, “is a beautiful city. You said you always wanted to see to Italy.”

“I did,” Albus agreed. “But Ariana-”

“Aberforth can manage for one night, I’m sure,” Gellert cut in. “I want to spend some time just the two of us. Don’t you want that, too?”

Albus sighed, and linked his arm with Gellert’s. “More than anything.”

“Shall we, then?”

Gellert Apparated them near his favourite cafe in the city, right near the bank of the River Arno, with seats out the front looking right towards the Ponte Vecchio. They took seats on the wicker chairs, their feet brushing against each other’s under the table.

The sun gleamed down on them, making the redness of Albus’s hair shine bright. Everything about Albus was so vivid and sparkling, and it was beautiful; then there was Albus’s magic, so strong that Gellert could sense it just from a simple brush of their hands. Albus was powerful and everything Gellert wanted.

“I’m afraid my Italian isn’t as strong as my French,” Albus murmured as he studied the list of coffees laid out on the table.

“We’ll go to Paris next, then,” Gellert smiled. “We can go anywhere we want, you and I; Prague, Berlin, Vienna, Stockholm...we’ll have it all.”

“There is freedom in power,” Albus said wisely. “I’d give anything for freedom.”

They both shared a glance at the Muggles walking beside them who were completely unaware of the power of the two young men sat so close to them.

“We’ll take anything for freedom,” Gellert corrected. “We’re not going to lose anything anymore.”

He reached for Albus’s hand across the table and took it in his. “I’m grateful to have met you, Albus. I know together we’re going to achieve great things.”
