Whoa! I was so skeptical when I read this pairing, and yet it works SO WELL. No, they probably couldn't ever make it work for real, but as teenagers and in secret? That's such a crap shoot. Molly's regret is just palpable, and her perspective on him over their years apart, that in his amorality, he wouldn't ever really care? Love it. And that ending! So cathartic!

I don't see them working as adults either, but I find it really easy to believe Lucius might have been drawn to her as a girl. She was a Pureblood and a powerful witch, after all. And I can imagine that would have added to his antipathy for Arthur later.
