But this was so much fun! Just a terribly, highly enjoyable romp (with a Hitchhiker's nod too!). Pansy pops here, and I love love love how she banters with everyone -- Cormac, naturally, but even in her head she has such great sarcasm. I thought the mystery was fantastic, especially with how its clues are naturally suited to Pansy's interests and how the MLE couldn't detect a pattern with three because LET'S BE HONEST IF A MAN CAN HIDE A BODY BY TRANSFIGURING IT DO THE MAGICAL POLICE REALLY KNOW HOW TO SOLVE CRIMES???, and the confrontation was very well done (she came in at just the nick of time, it looks like, and her explanation of what was going on with Cormac's increasing shock was one of the laugh-out-loud moments of the fic for me) and Cormac shamelessly flirting with his ex while his current is in his flat oh my god this is why you're insufferable and your exes want to kill youuuuu and the tie back to her having failed her test because of the wrong charm and doing so again, and even Auror Potter omg I just love everything about this, basically?
