oh, this was just fantastic and heartbreaking. You wrote a beautiful Regulus! I love the little details in this—Remus' lighter-colored eye, the fact that Regulus was almost in Ravenclaw, the pictures he draws of Sirius. I just loved everything about this, that the whole thing was a series of pictures of Regulus's life, if you will.
I can't decide which piece of this is my favorite. I love the conversation with Severus, and the ending too, and I really just loved this little segment:
There’s a problem with Regulus’ stupid, stupid, heartbeat. The way it quickens and jumps every second note it shouldn’t, when Regulus is not meant to fall in love and when he has more important things that should be on his mind.
He can school his face impassive, imposing and Black, but there’s a problem with his stupid, stupid heart.
