It was a definite challenge. Angst is really hard to get right; it's so easy to topple off the edge from good angst to serious soap opera wallowing angst. Also, the trimming! Trying to say everything I wanted to in only 2000 words was really tough, especially with two pairings. At one point I was thinking of cutting out Parvati and Lavender and just focusing on Katie and Angelina, but I really liked the juxtaposition of the different relationships and so I kept it in.

Funnily enough, this was originally going to be a Parvati/Lavender fic from Lavender's POV about falling in love with her best mate. And then I went for a walk and was thinking about my stupid memory and then this idea just whomped me!
