Peter didn't share all his secrets with the others; he had more sense of self-preservation than that.
He'd never admitted, for example, that he did so well in Herbology because he liked gardening; it wasn't a very manly pastime, after all, and he didn't like being teased. And he'd only ever shown Remus the tiny retreat he'd found on the roof near their dorm. He could trust Remus not to abuse that knowledge or drag girls there for snogging. He didn't tell anyone when he realised he found Regulus Black more attractive than Meadowsweet Parkinson. And he would rather have died than tell any of the Marauders about the nightmares he had of them leaving him behind.
By that same token, he didn't share the secrets he'd learned about others. He never told anyone that he'd seen the way Sirius looked at Lily, when James wasn't watching. He never said that he knew about James and Emmeline Vance, and that Emmeline had taken a book of contraceptive charms from the library under her robes. He didn't let on that he knew Remus' breathing quickened when Peter leaned close.
Of course, because no one knew he knew their secrets, no one ever realised how grateful they should be that he kept them. But Peter kept their secrets all the same.
After all, knowledge was power.
