DRABBLE: Heart of the Matter
Title: Heart of the Matter
Pairing: Lucius/Ginny, Molly
Prompt: I declare
Rating: G
Word Count: 100
Summary: Molly wants to ignore certain things, but Ginny won't let her.
Author's Notes: This is my attempt to overcome my fear of drabbles. It's probably rather melodramatic.

Molly liked to ignore unpleasantness; she had it down to an art, really. Ginny visited The Burrow alone, and they spoke of nothing important and ignored the tension of what was unsaid. Until today when Ginny, never content to let things lie, pressed the issue. Molly tried to disregard her, but her youngest always had a way of working through her defenses. There were words, sharp and angry, and tears, hot and salty.
"Why, Ginny?" Molly finally wailed, pushed past logical argument to the heart of the matter. "Why Lucius, of all people?"
Ginny just sighed. "Mum, I love him."
